Pour is a dark brown with a mild chocolate looking head. Aroma is some caramel and molasses with a bit of sweetness. Flavor is chocolate and and roasted malt with a sweet aftertaste. Not a bad little beer.

Courtesy of CigarCityBrew. Pours clear deep amber with thin white head. The aroma is sweet molasses, caramel, toffee, sweet Concord grape jam and mild mustiness. The taste is thin with semi sweet molasses and faint dark fruitiness to go along with some Munich like grainy malts. Pretty good but the aroma paints a better picture than the beer flavor can support.

500ml bottle. Thick, amber-mahogany color with a huge. lasting head. Taste is very mellow, with mild chocolate and caramel notes being the backbone of the beer. Very smooth and drinkable, a great lager. The aroma is nice and fresh with a light herbal touch to it. A very sublime, quality beer.

Not much pop upon opening and sure enough hardly any carbo. A mean dump still yields naught for head. Dark brown body. The aroma shows milk chocolate, light toffee and a hint of nuts. Soft body. Very low kellerbier-type carobonation. Chewy light toffeeish malts. Some earthiness shows through and just a hint of chocolate. Very smooth and drinkable, if a bit watery.

Bottle. Mahogony/dark ruby color with a tan head. Smokey, earthy, malt aroma. Flavor is lighter than expected - smoke, malt, caramel, earth - with a bit of acidity and very slight metallic, Lighter than expected body. Dusty, earthy, malt lingers with a bit of acididty. Needs more oomph.

Pours deep brown into a stoneware mug. Smoky malt aromas. Creamy, yet crisp and smooth with dark caramel and a lasting smoke finish. Perfect for crisp evening watching the ALCS.

500 ml. bottle. Sweet brown malt aroma with a bit of forest mast touch. Perhaps a hint of chocolate. Near opaque brown color with a frothy beige head that does some lacing. Thinnish body with a nicely moderate carbonation. The flavor is much of a brown ale. There’s a hint of sour, but also a decent level of bitter. The finish is dry with a impact that would be more of a brown ale or porter than a dark lager. This is just an excellent beverage. The type that makes me rethink my ale prejudices.
