Orchid is an Imperial Stout conditioned on hundreds of pounds of Madagascar Vanilla Beans. Richard felt so strongly about this beer he flew all the way to Madagascar to handpick the Vanilla Beans himself. He then soaked them in Bourbon Barrels for six months.

Can from the brewery: pours oily black with a light brown head. Aroma is vanilla and Chocolate. Taste is like drinking a load of gooey chocolate milk. Syrupy. Large and smooth. Light hints of bourbon and bitterness. Not my favorite style.

16oz can. Poured a smooth, black color with a medium sized brown ale. Aroma was roasted notes, lots of vanilla. Flavor was about the same, a ton of roasted notes. Light booze, but not overpowering. Light sweetness, malt, vanilla, touch of brown sugar. Vanilla, light maple. Roast.

16oz can pours an opaque cola brown/black with some sticky, brown head. Nose is cool, vanilla, maple, malt, licorice, some booze, brown sugar. Smells good. Flavor is sweet, but good, maple, vanilla, brown sugar, caramel, malt, licorice. Finishes full bodied and sweet... but surprisingly drinkable.

Pours a thick, oily, black with minimal head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, roasted grain, some bourbon. Flavor is vanilla, chocolate, roasted grain, some woodiness, a touch of bourbon (otherwise, the alcohol content is very well-hidden). Very smooth and lightly sweet. An outstanding imperial stout!
