Why should everything be so black and white? Our collaboration with Steel City begs to differ. With huge amounts of lactose and loads of oats, dosed heavily with cocoa nibs, tonka beans and vanilla, we give you a pale beer with stoutish character. With a thick, luxurious body and complex profile full of rich flavours this beer is deceptive. Thick custard, sweet condensed milk and a dash of nutmeg are some of the flavours this beer exudes.

Craft St Mary Axe. Keg. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is thin and dry and has a fair minerally crispness. Thin but sweetish malts, trace of vanilla and artificial sweeteners. Thin orange and mild spice. Very modest coffee. Light crisp finish shows some esters. It's inoffensive but this inherently clunky sub-style really needs to go extinct.

Keg at CBC Mary Axe, 27/10/17. Hazed orange with an initial off white head that soon dissipates. Nose is sweet, light milk chocolate, airy malts, coconut shavings. Taste comprises Bounty Bar, light white peppery spice, caramel, cheesecake base, light cocoa. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough for the genre.
