(On tap @ the brewpub, Aug 5/19) Pours near opaque red-brown with a decent whitish head and lots of lace. Notes of jammy sweet and quite tart blackberries and cherries with accents of currants and sour red grapes, promient lemon beyond just lactic acid, moderate acetic acid too, citrus peel bitterness, soft funk, some slightly odd mineral characteristics, finishing moderately tart with lingering citric and berry bite. Medium plus bodied with full slightly active carbonation and not too much of the booze apparent. Interesting but a bit all over the place as well, lacking balance as one might expect for a 10% 'saison'.

A reddish ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity with light Epsom salts, light Brett, light cork, pleasant. In mouth, a super puckering mix of ground cherries, lactic acid, cork, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

Muddy purple brown in color with a purple-brown head that to me evokes rhubarb juice. Lactic, acidic, toejam/baby sick aroma with blackberry & cherry pie. Full bodied with a raspy mouthfeel and a very tart jammy blackberry flavor. It’s acidic yet sweet enough with tartness. Hmm, I’d say it’s definitely one of Halo’s better sours though it looked so so under the kitchen’s light. I heard this was their anniversary beer and it was better by far than the other sours I had at the Brewpub.
