Black color, light beige head with short retention. Aroma has notes of black ripe fruit, molasses, sweet malts, notes of coffee beans. Flavor is sweet almost cloying, notes of coffee, rhum, soma vanilla, black ripe fruit. Final with light notes of rhum, no presence of alcohol that is hidden by sweet malts.

Keg at Rbabarrab, CPH, 11/11/17 ... turns out to be To Ol rate #100 for this Bois. Black with a well presented tan head. Nose is sweet malts, rum baba, chocolate, light ashen tones, toffee fudge, dates. Taste comprises molasses, black peppery spice, chocolate, roast malt blast, Xmas cake, dates, sultanas, rum barrel on show. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising boost. Decent enough high boost impy action ... a touch hotter and slightly less enjoyable than the Cognac version I'd sipped just before.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Nearly black. Thick, dense, leggy, lasting, tan head. Nose has stodgy vine fruit. Demerara sugar. Rum and raisin ice cream. Some earthy, woody coffee bean. Taste is sweet, chocolatey, and woody. Rich and silky mouthfeel. Way under the ABV, this. Chocolate, and rum and raisin ice cream to finish. One of those beers you think is going to be good, but actually is a belter.
