Cask at the Pembury Tavern, London on 8th July 2009. Blackish with small off white head. I had this beer after Minotaur, by the same brewery, and have to say I was less than taken with this one. Flavours seemed weaker than the lower strength mild, and whilst there was a fair balance of malt, roastiness and some bitterness, the stout lacked that strong kick that would otherwise make a stout noteworthhy. Not an unpleasant drink by any standards, but not an outstanding one either. I think a 3 is about right.

Cask gravity at Ealing BF 2008. Very deep brown with thin bubbly beige head. Coffee/choc aroma. It’s fine. Some juiciness in mouth. Some lacticness. Decent cereal/malt, not my favourite Milton beer.
