Cask @Buskers, Rome. Black ink pour with a regular and tick ivory cap. Nose: cocoa powder, chocolate, cappuccino. Mouth: bitter cocoa powder, burnt malts, some chicory.

Keg at Brewdock, Dublin, 26/01/23. Black with a good sized khaki cap that retains well. Nose is chocolate, toffee, roast malts, charr. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, cocoa powder, light metallic nip, roasted bight. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Tidy stout.

Hand pumped at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours practically black, with froathy foam, cream-coloured. Aroma is coffee, toffee, cigar. Body is average, with soft carbonation. Taste is markedly roasty, but with also some sweetness behind. Final is average.

Draught @ The Brew Dock Aroma has tobacco and ash. Also licorice. Flavour has ash, licorice, saltiness, mild coffee and tobacco. Dry finish. Good Guinness clone.

Jet black with a sold cream head. Aroma is toasted stout malt. Flavour is smooth creamy roast, burnt base , a little salty oyster, long dry finish, superb.
