aroma is oldfashioned hoppy bitter, almost eathy, the nutty malts and the grapefruity hops work super well together, aroma is almost hinting something big like chilies might do sometimes.. suspension... flavor is hoppy, bitter hoppy, a bit too much like an ESB flavorloess bitter hoppy, malts seem to be nutty and dry which doesn't help, i can't help but think this is one that has aged too long. In a way west coast, but not entirely, more like a west coast that spent 2 yrs on the shelf somewhere. totally drinkable though.
