Bottle 500ml. @ [ Chrisoโs pre- Xmas Tasting 2015 ] - Chris and Ruth's House, London. [ As Three Castles Holly Berry ]. [ BBF. 2011/11 ]. Clear medium yellow - amber orange colour with a large, frothy - creammy, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, fruity, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, citrus - fruit, fruity malt, pale malt, bread notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear orange-gold with a creamy, white head. Has a somewhat bland aroma, some light grainy pale malts, with orange and tangerine accents. Light sweet flavour with simple pale bread, light leafy hops, low bitterness, hints of citrus fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry pale bread in the finish, with a bit more pale bread, leafy bitterness and orange rind. OK, nothing too wrong here.

Cask (Cricketers, Southampton) - Copper with a small head. Blackcurrant, caramel and dried fruit in the aroma. Caramel, berries and malt in the taste. Nicely balanced and enjoyable.

Cask at the John Russell Fox (JDW), Andover. Amber with a tight cream head; earthy aroma; sweet taste with some cinnamon spice and a rather thin body; and a spicy finish. A reasonable Christmas beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 7/12/10. Deep amber with a decent off-white head. Fruity and earthy malt aroma. Sweetish flavour, with berry fruit, some vague spiciness and a decent, bitter finish. Good.

Cask Conditioned at Wenlock Arms, London
Dark amber color; thin head. I was scared by the name and label (Berry), instead this good Bitter is enhanced by a very good hopping, evident both in the aroma and flavor, fruity and lighty grassy. The final, well balanced, shows a light earthy (manure) character. Very good.
