FOEDER AGED WILD ALE w/ APRICOT

As years passed and our oak aged beer became more robust, we discovered many unique, interesting, single barrels deserving of a special release. Barn Owl was created as a response to these lone wolves, and has grown into a diverse, ongoing series that reflects the growing diversity of our barrel program. The name is a nod to the wise and exacting animal that keeps watch over the farmhouse (er..industrial warehouse), and the one-off creations are released sporadically throughout the year, just as soon as we deem the barrels ripe for the picking.

500mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aroma is full of dusty apricot, farmhouse notes, and some peppery notes. Flavour is very fruity, with lots of bright apricot, spicy black pepper, wild yeast, and a touch of oak. High carbonation, which allows the fruit and pepper to breathe. The complexity isn't very pronounced but it's a pleasant beer. Solid.

Bottle: Poured a nice slightly hazy yellow color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of light apricot with some sour notes and light funky ester is quite nice. Taste is also a good mix of light apricot notes with some sour notes and light funky ester with no real acidity. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation. Nice sour with apricot notes complementing the other flavours.
