Notting Hill Blizzard is a strong rye beer with a malty base, hints of dried fruits and a slight toffee aroma. It has been aged in Bourbon whiskey barrels for 1 year, allowing the beer to soak up the wonderful complex flavours left in the oak and adding buttery, vanilla-like and whiskey characteristics to the beer.

Bottle shared by Leighton. Murky brownish color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, wood, bourbon, a lot of oak in there. Decent body, average carbonation.

Bottle shared with my beer brothers Cloin and Danny during the night of the release at the brewery. We beat the lines! Pours mostly clear reddish-brown with a lasting, creamy tan head. Fresh wood in the nose, toasty bread, dried berries, caramel. Medium sweet flavor with decent alcohol boost, some vanilla, more wood, toffee, dried fruits, figs. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Moderately warming on the finish with decent earthy bitterness, further caramel and light coconut, dried fruits, figs, berries, golden raisins. Good stuff overall. Might soften up novel with a bit more age.

Bottle split at the brewery tap room, 19/11/15. Rich amber with a decent beige covering that retains well. Nose is laced in bourbon, coconut shavings, rich malt, spice, wooded notes, fruit loaf, light spice. Taste comprises sharp fruit, coconut, vanilla fudge, bourbon licks, spice, rich malt, toffee, light perfume. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising level of alcohol. Solid strong, well joined up with a good bourbon boost.
