13.05.2017, tap @ MBCC:
Nice light brown slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is strange sour-ish mineraly, sour-ish roasted grain, old lawn, weeds, minerals, something sulfury, burnt toast, bark, cocoa, paper. Taste is slightly dry roasted, weeds, minerals, roasted grain, bark, hay, ashes, burnt toast, paper, grass, burnt coffee. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh roasted mouthfeel. So boring.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is very roast forward with some light chocolate notes. A bit of an ash character with hints of tobacco. Light molasses and dark caramel notes. Hints of dark fruit. Pours black with some dark brown hues on the edges and a small, somewhat thin, light mocha head that recedes to the edges and disappears. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a fairly strong roast note and some light dark chocolate notes. Some medium light ashy notes with some dark molasses and hints of anise. Medium bitterness and a bit of a dry finish. Light dark fruit notes. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but present astringency and fairly low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice dark roast forward stout. Clean ester notes, but a bit too roast forward for me. Not much astringency for the amount of roast.

Tap. Press clear black, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is very roasty with notes of leather, ashtray, coffee grounds, molasses. Flavor is very light sweet, light bitter. Approaching dry, no cocoa notes, just a simple stout, and really well done.
