Oat Wine is a take on the classic British beer style, Barley Wine.....but dominated by oats not barley.
Brewed with 50% oats, rye, barley & wheat, double mashed and hopped with English varieties Admiral & First Gold.
Matured in cask for 12 months.
Deep golden in colour with a warm bitter-sweet compote of rich fruit; deep, full bodied, spicy with marmalade & vanilla flavours.

Keg at IMBC 2015; hazy amber pour with a thin off white head, aroma has sweet fruits and a hint of grain, taste has sweet stewed fruits, a hint of tangerine, grain action comes through.

Gravity dispense at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 02/04/15. Lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is caramel, sweet notes, dark fruit rinds, light spice. Taste comprises candyfloss, fruit rinds, caramel, cake mix. Medium + body, fine carbonation, lightly warming alcohol in the close. Ok barley wine but lacks depth.

Cask at Craft 100. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, honeyed grain, cereal, dried fruits and porridge. The taste is sticky sweet, toasty grain, cereal, warming alcohol, some stewed orange, porridge, spice, quite savoury and toasted grass with a dry finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Interesting stuff, but perhaps a touch too savoury overall.

Draft at Craft 100 April 2015 - London. Pours clear gold with a creamy. white head. The nose holds lightly tangy tangerine and pale wood. Medium sweet flavor with more tangy citrus character, straight alcohol, wood, melon, peach. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly sticky and boozy, with drying woody notes, citrus. OK.

Craft #100 fest at Clapham. Cask. Hazy amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crisp. Lovely carbonation. Smooth malts, light creamy sweetness. Floral sweetness. Marmalade and a touch of tangerine. A light savoury note on the finish.
