This imperial breakfast stout, brewed with our Chicago pals at Mikerphone, was infused with mountains of sweet maple syrup, brown sugar and a rich blend of Brazilian and Colombian coffee
beans.

A balanced and layered malt bill combines pale and chocolate malt, wheat and rye with Carafa® Special (Type 3) to enhance the bold coffee flavours, while oat additions help round out the luscious, creamy mouthfeel.

330ml can. Pitch black pour with a small tan head. Aroma of maple syrup and coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla. Taste is very sweet, loads of maple, coffee roast, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, warming alcohol. Full bodied, smooth, and remarkably not cloying. Wonderful stuff!

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Black pour with a tan head. Maple, coffee, cocoa, treacle toffee, chocolate biscuit & brown sugar aromas. Rich flavours of maple, butterscotch, chocolate pudding, cocoa, coffee beans. Humungously warming brew. Exceedingly flavoursome

Can. Almost clear very dark brown beer, a small bubbly darkish tan head vamooshes in an instant. Smooth palate, a little viscosity but still delivering decent fine minerally carbonation. Rich dark malts, a good chocolate fudge going on. Some slightly spicy eaters in the mid. Back end brings soft but rich and not too sweet maple with a surprised espresso coffee. Viscous and slightly alcohol spicy finish. Drinks pretty darn easy for its hefty abv. That said, lacks a wow factor for this style of Vault beer, for me, they have done much better in this range.

330ml can. Poured almost black in colour with little life. The aroma is big roasted malt, maple syrup. The flavour is strong sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, sweet sugary, maple syrup, dry spicy coffee, boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Big, boozy and sickly sweet. A little unrefined and unbalanced for me.

Black beer with a thin tan head and a massive coffee aroma. A little of the syrup too. Flavour follows suit. Heaps of rich coffee, loads of maple,, brown sugar and sweet, toasty malt. A few simple flavours but with with loads of hefty and heart over a rich body. Delicious.
