Classic straight down the line dry Irish stout. Full bodied with pronounced dryness from roasted barley, matched with high levels of bitterness and a dry, almost smokey finish. A very accessible stout.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A mahogany coloured pour with a loose cream head; roasted malt aroma; quite a sugary taste with a strong bitterness from the roast; then a dry nutty finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle from the bodega enjoyed at Gareth's Dark brown with a huge frothy off white head that persists. Light caramel and chocolate with a bit of roast. Light earth and fruit.

0.5l bottle @ The Diamond, Londonderry. Actually had to struggle quite a bit to get a decent head on this one, and all I got was a cask-like bubbly beige islandy thing. In the glass it's a more or less black looking one, deep and dark. It smells pretty good. Lots or warming roasted notes, a little licoroce, cold coffee and mild burnt toast. Not bad at all. Tastes much the same. It's quite heavy roasted I'd say, almost a little burnt around the edges. Black toast, cold coffee. A little papery perhaps. Feels fuller in the mouth than the abv should suggest and it's just below average on the carbonation. Nice dark lingering tail. Quite good. 07.06.2016

Közepes, nagyon tartós hab, fekete szín. Nem túl intenzív illat, leginkább a pörkölt malátát érezni. Domináns pörkölt malátás íz, icipici savanyúval. Tipikus stout, lehetne picit intenzívebb. Utóíze a korty folytatása, egy hangyányit vizes. Nem túl testes.

Bottle at home from asda. Mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting loose cream head. Aroma is nice choc, earthy roast, praline and a little sweet lactose. Flavour is smooth nutty choc, milky roast, little earthy wood notes. Palate is medium full, smooth, somewhat milky. Moderate carbonation. Nice milky stout.
