Cask handpull at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Cola colour lasting beige head. A decent drier style stout. Some juiciness on the finish. Some tar flavour. Cracking condition. Decent chocolate tar flavour. Malty. OK.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks a lot!]. Jet black colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty and herbal-grassy, hoppy aroma. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty and herbal-grassy hoppy, notes of liquorice, salted liquorice, hints of cold coffee, a touch of peppermint. Biting, refreshing, with a tendency towards Black IPA.

Bottle from Two Brews, Colchester. Pours almost black with a lasting beige head. Aroma of malts, roasted coffee, chocolate, light liquorice and dark fruits. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Dry and roasted finish. Pretty good.
