The Archdruid needed to ride to the ceremonies at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, eager to preside over The Crowning of the Bard. Short of timber, he used ancient magic to lash immobilized leprechauns into a river worthy craft. Notice the bejeweled chalice floating by the side of the Archdruid? It's filled with this Irish red ale we aged in Irish Whiskey barrels. An nidh is anamh, is é is iongataighe.

Poured from bottle reddish brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of sweet caramel malt and dried sour fruit. Taste is tart sour berry caramel sweetness and some barrel. This might be infected.

Bottle - Malt and caramel notes. Cloudy copper with a decent white head. Sweet, sour and caramel. Not sure if the sour notes are intentional.

Hazy, thin head. Light amber. The aroma has some slight plasticy notes, with a fair bit of tartness. This has a fruity tartness, with berry notes. Thin. This seems to have overfermented. Really, this doesn’t work out.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt, light caramel and only a touch of barrels. Flavour brings out sour red fruits, bready malt and light barrels. This is clearly infected - the sourness shouldn't be here. Needs fixing.

On tap at The Hay Merchant. Pours a clear copper with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is acetone and wood. Thin, boozy, wood, off flavors, no.

Pours deep amber into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sour cherry and chocolate aromas. Tart, sour leather and nasty rotting whiskey soaked fruit. This can’t be as intended... my first Clown Shoes drain pour...

Tap at Capitol Beer. Pours dark amber with a tan head. Aroma is lightly brown sugar or maybe treacle. Med + body. Flavor is spicy, maybe a sour note, treacle, med dark fruit. Very smooth; not a Flanders red, but it brings that to mind. Tasty. Though the BA aspects got right by me.

650 ml bottle from Craft Beer Cellar (Amesbury). Deep brown color, well carbonated. For the love of God! Whiskey notes, funky oak, mixed with old dirty gym socks.

Ok, the whiskey is here underneath some sweet caramel and toffee like hints. Problem is it shows a strong note of red wine vinegar, and a bold sourness after the whiskey. Maybe I got a bad bottle? Not sure but this is undrinkable. I was able to force down about 3 ounces. It was easier drinking a crappy, skunky Japanese pale lager I had a few hours ago. This is gross. Complete waste of money.
