A generous portion of Maine grown rye malt in the grain bill gives R3 a nice, spicy taste while some crystal malt additions give it some sweetness and color. Cascade hops dominate.

Can (5/24/23) pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Hazy amber-red with some dark floaties, nice sparkle, large head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is rye, toasted malt over mild floral. Taste is strong spicy rye over lighter caramel malt. Frothy texture, lively carbonation and dry, crisp finish. Age has probably affected this in myriad ways and may explain lack of hop presence, but that might just be Cascade. OK.

16 oz can. Aroma is toasted bread. Flavor has toasted bread, soft, toffee, and mild rye throughout the sip. Mild bitter herb finish. This can has sat awhile and it still is really drinkable. Good!
