Great Oktoberfest example. Light honey aroma. Hint of sweetness with notes of honey, caramel, sponge cake and a hint of brown bread.

Poured amber, white head from can. Caramel, grass, slight hops, really good example of the style

16 ounce can. Bright amber orange pour. Frothy beige head. Toasted malt aroma. Flavor is sweet, tangy, toasted malt. Bready, toffeeish notes. Herbal hops in finish. Not bad.

Caramel color with a medium sized foamy head that left good lacing. Sweetish and malty with a light fruity note. Medium finish and body.

16 oz can. Aroma and flavor are a carbon copy. Solid malt backbone with a mild spicy character. Medium in body and shows a some crispness. It is ok for the style.

Nice and very clear copper and bronze coloured body with a brighter orange tint and a very thin, single centimetre tall off-white head that fades relatively quickly and only leaves a sliver of a lace on top. Aroma of nuts, light earth, a heavier dose of squash/pumpkins and a subdued spice element, all on top of a lot of yeast and especially a malted barley note with some caramelised sugars closer to the end, but they fade fairly quickly as well. Medium-bodied; Fairly rich malts, earthiness, nutty flavours and especially rustic qualities that hit strong at first with a lot of the malts and graininess, but some noticeable spices and yeast qualities with a definite lager kick, that's picked up from the bitterness here, at the end, with a dry, herbal bite as well and a lot of yeastiness. Aftertaste is dry, with a good earthiness front and centre with a kick from the caramelised sugars, but more of a bitterness than any sweetness and a light bready quality that definitely brings out the lager characteristics. Overall, a strong, earthy, nutty, rustic and crisp marzen with a lot of the flavours you'd expect from the style with a slight sweetness and pungency that might not be so typical, but great to sample, even though it's from the state of Ohio! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Heinen's Grocery Store in [downtown] Cleveland, Ohio on 30-July-2021 for US$2,89 sampled at my house here on the last few days of Oktoberfest, in Washington on 12-October-2021.
