Fat på Brewskival, lördag. Kolsvart med försvinnande brun krona. Kokos, vanilj, läder, bourbon, likörpralin, choklad, muscovadosocker, kola. Rejäl och eldig med tydlig fatkaraktär. Maffigt och ruskigt gott. Kanske bäst av varianterna på Buckley?

Draught at CBC Boston, 9/23/17.
Opaque, dark ebony with a good-sized, light tan head that slowly fades to cover/ring.
Rich, vinous, dark fruits emerge quickly to be confronted by spicy, strong bourbon and moderate oak character. Strong black malt presence contributing ash, char, bitter chocolate and light vanilla. Very "stiff", powerful aroma that, while certainly containing some chocolate fudge-like character, still tends to the massively rich, bold, overbearing. Alcohol is there, though not obnoxiously so, for the size here. Pretty well-developed bourbon notes sit on the finish, surprisingly playfully, despite their strength.
Thick, rich, syrupy though not syrupy-sweet, which is a big distinction. Oily char and black chocolate begin to assault the palate in concert with massive amounts of bourbon; massive amounts of enjoyable bourbon, at least, but massive still the same. Rich dark chocolate, light prune and raisin with caramel and light fudge-like sweetness bringing up the rear and creating some balance with warming. Inevitable alcohol on the finish isn't ruinous, but could still be toned down, especially given the already large bourbon presence here. The relatively high attenuation really saves the day here with all of the powerful dark, rich flavors definitely overpowering my palate nonetheless, but I still prefer that to cloying, fudgey, cakey sugar bombs.

Bottle shared thanks to kermis. Black with small brown head. Massive dark chocolate, coffee, bourbon, soft spicy notes, vanilla, soft cinnamon, maple, cherry pits, sweet coffee stuff. Yeah so much coffee and bourbon and sweet stuff but also quite some alcohol. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied with some booze.

8 4 8 3 17 Bottle shared at Maakun’s. Black with a beige head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak, maple syrup, fudge, milk chocolate and alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation. Great, but would be exceptional if it want for the evident alcohol.
