Can, total wine. Eye is a virtually clear darker pale, maybe slight orangish tint light brown, typical fest beer look. Slight sweet caramel & malt nose. I've always felt sixpoint beers to be a little uncivilized and somewhat over the top for their style, so here goes: First taste impression is a little cloying, yet with many fest beer attributes. Stronger, more deep in flavor. A little sticky on the palate. In the middle deep sugary cloying impressions start to sink in with a little boozy reinforcement. Finishes with a stronger personality for a typical fest. Session is as expected, a little uncouth and coarse for the style. So be it.

12 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a crystal clear dark bronze color with a light beige head and very good retention. Decent lacing. Caramel malt aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavor throughout. Very clean and smooth. A good, simple American Marzen. Medium-light body and medium-light carbonation. Not bitter. Prost!

On tap at the Bier Garden in Asbury Park, pours a copper amber with some tight, white head. Nose has malt, orange, yeast, light raisin, dried leaves. Flavor follows, lightly vegetal, some orange, cracker, some bread. Finishes dry. Overly simple.
