Very crisp and clear deep amber and copper coloured body with a pretty thick three to four centimetre tall tan head that leaves an ugly lace on the sides of the glass as it fades. Aroma of alcohol, pine, toffee, earthy malts, flowers and a touch of citrus fruit - very strong and seemingly quite bitter. Medium-bodied; Strong bitter and pine flavours dominate with some crisp, rustic nutty and cardboardie malt note, but some light herbal and perfumey finishes with a lot of bitterness and almost no sweetness or depth. Aftertaste is quite dry throughout, with a lot of rustic, earthy, nutty and caramely malt notes, but the dry, resinous and super piney hop flavours are of course stronger, as they should be - for the style - but with no sweetness or depth for a reprieve from the dry and bitter flavours. Overall, a super old-school IPA with some crisp, dry malts, but a stronger and more pungent kick from the super bitter hops - nice, dry, pretty straight-forward, but deep! Nice to try ultra-fresh and good if you like real hoppy/old-school IPAs - especially East Coasters. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Morrisville (Cary), North Carolina on 10-June-2023 for US$2,75 with the tagline '#letitsnow' on the bottom of the can and sampled at my house here in Washington on 22-June-2023.

3 week old pint can A: Clear deep dark gold with a short thick beige head. Fair retention and sheet lace. S: Light scent with citrus, floral, piney, woody and caramel notes. T: Bitter hops up front deliver big orange flavors, then come resinous pine and woody malts. Slightly dry and lightly sweet. M: Medium full body with dry feel and lightly sweet, sticky finish. O: Nice flavor balance and lightish mouthfeel make this tasty and easy drinking. Pleasant surprise.

Big pounder can from total wine in NC. Pop open and pour and this stuff is foaming all over the place. Big dull pine like nose. When it settles I see its an orangey tinted slightly brown kind of brew 331. Heheh, even the color code is orange orange brown. Yes, quite hop bitter up front, almost gets the the astringent factor but not quite. At first there is some co2 that makes it refreshing, but only after a few minutes, the nifty bubbly sensation goes flat. Yeh, almost like nitro, and not only that, it has a slight warming sensation down the gullet trail. Gets difficult in the middle, starting to turn into a double IPA. Yes, if you like IPA, you better ignore my numbers because this stuff is as good as any 1000 excellent mouth coating IPA out there: Put it on yer bucket list and dig a lode of this. There, you have it.
