Cask at the White Horse, Hedgerley. A bright pale amber pour with a loose white head; odd fruity aroma; soapy in the mouth, with a fruity orange taste to start, an oily body, and a herbal bitterness, with a trace of spearmint; then a pleasantly malty finish. A really good English bitter.

Bottle from Two Brews, Colchester. Pours clear pale gold with a good sized white head. Aroma of citrus fruit, flowers, caramel, grass and hops. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Increasing bitterness to finish. Enjoyable aside from the high carbonation.

500ml bottle from Cross Lanes Farm Shop. Hazy golden colour, bubbly white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of malt, grain, fruity hop. Taste is malt caramel, some grain, tangy, sourish, with fruity blackcurrant and earthy orange hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry fruity citric bitter finish. Quite OK English IPA.
