Rated at Penthouse Platinum Lounge - Pien Edition. Dry, fruity and intense with dried apricot fruits, some peaches, caramel and toffee, hints of warming alcohol and tartness. A bit weird.

Bottle pour shared with TJ and Chris. It's a cloudy light brown (pale cider) with no sparkle, nice viscosity, thin cap of beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong apricot over milder dark fruit and caramel/toffee backbone. Taste follows aroma--strong apricot dominates with much less of the base barley wine present. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation, no sign of alcohol, and finish as taste. Overall, for apricot lovers, this will float your boat but it obscures the base barley wine.

500 ml. Aroma is bold apricot. Not much else. The flavor is mostly apricot purée. Maybe a hint of toffee underneath. It tastes good but heavy handed on the purée. They pretty much killed the base.
4/29/21 1327/1500 aroma is apricot, raisin, hint of toffee. Taste is nice, very sweet from the apricot puree, with notes of fruit, brown sugar, caramel.Wish there was more barley wine.
