Don’t confuse this light and drinkable stout with an imperial. In fact, stouts range drastically. This twist on an Irish Stout was inspired by the cooler temps and longer nights to come. The aroma is a mix of dark chocolate and Italian Roast Coffee. Once you sip it, the sweet flavors of the malts meld together with the sharper roast characters, then the addition of Cocoa nibs become present leaving you with a morishly smooth finish. Being only 3.8% means reaching for another one is just fine.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to mug.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a finger and a half's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark chocolate, black coffee, cocoa nibs, coffee roastiness and earthy scents
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine roasty to earthy sweet quality; finishes roasty and dry
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, some smooth tones but also plenty of dryness
Overall: I say a nicely done Irish dry stout worthy of returning to.

16oz can pours a murky black with a big cap of gray head. Nose has plenty for less than 4%. Cocoa powder, burnt toast, light coffee, some light marzipan. Flavors all follow, malt and toast and some tiramisu. Dry finish. Medium bodied. Easy drinker.

16 oz can. Aroma has a decent amount of coca. The flavor profile is coca, roasted malt, fig. The texture is bone dry with light roast lingering. Body is lean but this is under 4%. It is a serviceable dry stout.
