Maple syrup barrel-aged version of Big Munro has the same oak-aged aromas, the toffee and sherry notes that come from the slow oxidation that happens in all barrel aging, with hints of the sweet flavors to come. The bourbon character overall is mellow but still present due to the fact the barrel saw the bourbon first, then saw the maple syrup. It has a distinct maple candied flavor, not over the top-maple but enough that you know it is there, while still carrying the pleasant, though subdued, bourbon and oak characteristics.

Bottle # 155 / 750. Aroma shows moderate maple, English toffee, maple candy. I mean don’t get me wrong the flavor here is sweet but it never gets cloying. (Rides the line). TheHeaven Hill bourbon barrel helps cut the sweetness. Alcohol is not noticed but definitely feel warmth when you finish the glass. This beast is a sipper!

11/26/20 155/750 split 2 ways aroma is maple, bourbon, brown sugar. Taste is smooth, sweet but not cloying, barrel is present and cuts through the sweetness. Smooth and a nice sipper.
