Bottle at home in NH. Pours deep brown with a fluffy, beige cap. Moderate sweetness, notes of milk chocolate, lightly ashy roast, some raisins, soft earthy bitterness. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Semi-sweet finish, bit more ash, dried dark fruits. Fine.

Growler pour from share with AirForceHops—thanks, Chris! It’s an opaque black with light sparkle, thin cap of beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malts and creamy chocolate. Taste is roasted malt on the burnt, bitter side (mellows a bit as it warms). Might have coffee/baker’s chocolate components but they’re all that burnt/bitter variety. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation and dry finish as taste. Overall, good strength of both aroma but didn’t care for the burnt, bitter quality of taste.

32 oz. growler from the source. Filled 22 hours ago. Aroma is roast, ash, chocolate. Flavor is a copy of the aroma. Medium body with a dry roasted texture. Unfortunately there’s an odd metallic-like nuance in the finish.

Sample at the source. Deep brown/black in color with a frothy off white head. Roasty earthy light caramel and chocolate with a bit of a creamy mouthfeel. Solid stout quite drinkable, but for my tastes I would have enjoyed just a hint more body.
