The aroma of this imposing Imperial Stout recalls a fine marocchino served next to a waffle, with espresso, maple, cacao, vanilla and molasses all commanding attention on the nose. Full and silky on the palate, rich dark chocolate flavors are accented by maple syrup and fresh ground coffee notes, while bourbon spiciness and wood tannins cut through any cloying sweetness.

ABV: 12.3%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, coffee, maple, sweet malt, barrel - bourbon, coffee - chocolate - fresh grounded coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, maple sweet malt, dark malt, coffee, chocolate, roasted, barrel - bourbon, coffee - chocolate. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20230107]

Bottle (4/10/19) pour courtesy of Chalumeaux--thanks, TJ! Appearance is opaque black with no sparkle, nice viscosity, ring of light brown head and no lacing. Aroma is strong maple, bourbon and chocolate with somewhat lighter coffee and earthy malts. Taste is decadent, rich chocolate, bourbon barrel, maple though coffee is subtle to absent. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with silky smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, coffee is muted--if you have this, drink it now!!--but it is well crafted and lots of things to like. A little thin but really smooth.

750 ml bottle thanks for TJ for being our proxy. Spilt 2 ways.Aroma is earthy coffee, maple, booze. Flavors are pretty well integrated. Coffee, maple, roast and bourbon are balanced extremely well. Booze does show a bit after the sip but not harsh. Warming after the sip with a fuller body. Very nicely crafted. Good riddance 2020. 2021 HAS to be better

Bottle. Pours opaque black, medium dark brown head, decent lacing. Aroma is heavy coffee, espresso, bourbon, mocha, maple, oak. Flavor is fairly sweet, light plus bitter. Full body. A bit sharp.
