Our second collaboration blend with The Commons Brewery was matured on locally grown, whole Yellow Nectarines from Detering Orchards. Aromatic and juicy stone fruit notes balance the firm acidity of this mixed-culture ale. Despite a perceived medium-full body sweetness from the nectarine refermentation, Common Nectar finishes crisp and dry.

500 ml bottle from a trade with my buddy out in Nebraska. Bottled 11/ 2018. Aroma shows me mild nectarine peel, citrus path, apricot, funk. Flavor shows mild acid, oak, nectarine pith, again funk. Some tartness and light lasting funk.

Bottle (11/18) pour courtesy of AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is lightly hazy bright yellow with nice sparkle, small ring of off-white head, no lacing. Aroma is strong pungent tart fruit/champagne yeast, barnyard, milder hint of sweet fruit. Taste is strong balance of sweet and tart fruit like a mix between a wine cooler/champagne/sour candy, later identifiable yeast and nectarine. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, stays within the tart realm rather than going sour where I don't like it. This is well crafted and there are some things that I actually really like but this is not a favored style for me.

Huge nectarine flavor and crisp finish. Effervescent pour that settles quick, sweet and slight funk, should age amazingly.

Keg at LCBF 2019 - Friday evening session. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a soft, creamy white head. Good strong tartness, pear, lemony acidity, lemon squash, light salt, peach. Light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Clean and sharp in the finish. Classic American sour.
