This rich, roasted brew with hints of chocolate, coffee & toffee is packed full of American hops. Dark as night and ink black like Ol’ McMullen Pond from the steady hemlock runoff. Ol’ McMullen was a porter by trade and we’ve brewed this to pay homage to him.

Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of nuts and burnt malt. Taste has burnt malt, coffee toffee malt nutty toffee. Palate has much of the same. Not bad.

Can from Tfontana, thanks for the trade. Dark brown in color with a frothy long lived off white head. Caramel maltiness with ashy chocolate and bits of fruit and earth to counter. Pretty decent American porter.

Can (1/24/20) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits. Appearance is virtually opaque very dark brown (almost black) with trace sparkle, ring of off-white head and no lacing. Aroma is mix of roasted malt, bread, nuts. Taste is earth/woody side of roasted malt, light toffee. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with lingering bitter. Overall, nothing to really fault here but not that exciting. I don't get the chocolate and coffee aspects and the earthy/woody roast is not my favorite. But competent.

16 oz. can shared by tfontana, proper social distancing at 14 feet away on my back porch. Not joking. Roasted barley, chocolate hints, coffee like Aroma. Flavor is a direct reflection. Very soft bitterness in the backend. Good body for a porter with a dry texture.
