16 oz. can. Spilt two ways. Aroma shows soft vanilla, subtle rye whiskey, and light chocolate. Body is full with a velvet like texture. Vanilla, mild rye bourbon, and chocolate is all here. Alcohol is totally hidden. In a blind test test I never would have guessed it was 13%! Awesome.

Can pour shared by AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is opaque black, light sparkle at the edges of the glass, nice viscosity, no head, no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, vanilla and complementary mild rye. Taste follows aroma but stronger, and rye is higher in the mix. Mild alcohol present initial sip but vanishes as it warms. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, slick (in a good way) texture, soft carbonation, and finish as taste. Overall, strong aroma and flavor (both improve as it sits in the glass) and everything is well balanced and fantastic mouthfeel. Pedestrian appearance but who cares?

Draft. A- Whisky, cocoa, mild rye. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Whisky, cocoa, mild vanilla. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, boozy finish. O- So happy to see White Elm celebrating year three. They've come a long way since Day 1 and have killed it from the start. That said, their anniversary beers seemed to have gone down slightly. Year one was phenomenal. Year two was very good but a bit boozy and cloying and I think would've simply been better with a couple years to mellow it out. For year three, this is the first anniversary brew I've had on tap rather than out of a can. It was a very solid beer, however, it almost seems like it was played safe. The barrel is there but I still want more, the vanilla is very mild. Like I said, this was tasty but it just needed more complexity. Wish I could've gotten a can to try it again in a year or so.
