Can from a Lazy Dog. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown with a bubbly tan head that persists. Bready toasty light caramel and chocolate maltiness against a bit of earthy pine and citrus. Not bad if a little sweet.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane's Beer & Wine. Appearance is opaque black with tons of light floaties, fair sparkle at the edges of the glass, 2-finger plus foamy beige head with decent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and resiny bitter. Taste is moderately strong sweet roasted malt and equally strong bitter resin followed by bitter roast. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, the elements are all there but have had other Black IPA's with a bit more pop in the flavor department and the palate here is a bit lackluster. Still, decent.

Dark black appearance. All the correct flavors for the style. Roasty grain, earth, pine, and floal hops good dry texture. Good amount of flavor for how low of gravity. Well crafted.
