Keg at the Hop Locker, 21/04/17. Black with a decent tan cap. Nose is chocolate, big cinnamon rip, roast malts, toffee fudge, mixed spice. Taste comprises dark fruit rinds, faint coffee, roast malt, chocolate cake, cinnamon, light black peppery spice, toasted brown sugar, marshmallows, pecan nuts, light charr. Full bodied and some more, oily feel, warming alcohol rise in the close. Fun time impy but I wasn’t getting the bacon.

Draught@HBF2017. Thick black with a small off-white head. Aroma is coconut, some roasted malts, spiced and mild earthy notes. Flavour is coconut, liquorice, alcohol, spices and some wooden and vanillaish notes. What a beauty especially in the aroma.

Keg at Hop Locker - London. Pours black with a tight, creamy brown head. Lots of cinnamon in the nose, cinnamon buns, cocoa, light roast. Medium to big sweet flavour, more cinnamon, chocolate, low roast, light alcohol. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, more chocolate, drying cinnamon, toasty cinnamon bun, chocolate cake. A really silly beer. I love it.

Keg at Hop Locker. It pours opaque jet black with a sturdy deep tan head. The aroma is intense, sweet, the essence of America..., vanilla, big cinnamon bun vibe, pecan pie, candy, toffee, dunkin donuts, cake and chocolate. The taste is also intense, but not quite as sweet, rich roasted malt, charred wood, spicy, cinnamon, pecan pie, earth, chocolate cake, vanilla fudge, bourbon, chocolate donut, and ice cream with butterscotch syrup, fudge, crunchie and spice with a slick, warming finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and foamy, rich carbonation. Given my description of flavours I should hate this (sounds too sweet) but booze and dryness keeps it in check. Ludicrous stuff. Jeebus.

Keg at Hop Locker. Pours black with dirty tan head that remains. Aroma is cinnamon, marshmallow, chocolate caramel. Taste is quite mellow with chocolate and marshmallow followed by a boozy bourbon hit and a spicy cinnamon finish with a hint of coffee. Really smooth drinking. Utterly mental and lovely.

Tap at HBF. Opaque color, small brownish head. Aroma has spiced candy, cardamon, cinnamon, raisins. Full and heavy nose. Full-bodied. Similar flavor with lots of spice cake and then burning alcoholic finish. Hmmm interesting...

(Keg at HBF2017) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. The aroma was so full of excessive sweet stuff that it alone caused me a headache. Palate full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweet chocolate, sweet cocoa, booze and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A way too sweet brew.

Draught @ HBF 2017. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Massive aroma of roasty malts, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, licorice, mudcake, hazelnuts, toffee, syrup and coconut. Taste is massive, heavy and sweetish with loads of roastiness, licorice, mudcake, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon and hazelnuts. Finish is sweet, slightly syrupy and heavy with hazelnuts, coffee, cocoa, roastiness, mudcake, hints of cinnamon and licorice. Quite heavy and massive. Abv is really well hidden.
