Yorocco Biwa Vana On opening this orange colored brew gave off a medicinal Biwa flavored cough drop aroma. Medium bodied with a soft round carbonation. The taste is lightly tart with that medicinal, then Biwa, a hit of sweet butter biscuits then medicinal and hints of sweet Biwa dancing around. Bizarre and not in a good place at the moment.

375 ml bottle at Beach Muffin. Wow, this seems to have come out far better than the keg version. Deep hazy orange with lace. Nose of ume-shu (plum liqueur), apricot, wood, some barnyard, some must, moldy cheese. Good sweetness with biwa coming across as apricot, slightly reminiscent of a Fou’Foune. Also get a lot of the stones, plus orange and pears. This was very nice in the bottle refermented version.
