Can pour from BevMax, Hamden. Appearance is opaque black with no sparkle, finger-width beige head with poor retention and mild lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malts and coffee. Taste is roasted bitter coffee and sweet malts. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, exactly what you'd expect--a strong porter with coffee.

Pours pitch black with a thin creme head, viscous appearance. Aroma of dark coffee notes, extremely rich. Taste has coffee, mocha and dark chocolates. Palate has much of the same with a rich creme texture that remains on the tongue and imparts the previously mentioned flavors. Absolutely Fantastic.

12oz can pours a dark black with some clumpy, brown head. Nose is chewy malt, marzipan, roast, some compost. Flavor is malty, sweet, roast, soil, some coffee, black pepper. Finishes spritzy but dry.

12 oz. can purchased at Julio's Liquors. Lasting tan head on top a black liquid. Aroma very deep and rich roasted coffee and chocolate. The flavor is loaded with coffee beans. Body of dark chocolate, little ash, and plenty of cold brewed coffee. The texture is dry with roasted coffee bean that lingers just a tad.

I didn't realize it was 8.5 % until I had to add this to the data base. Drinks like it is lower in gravity. Also has just enough bitterness to balance. Overall, nicely drinkable impy coffee Porter.
