Draft at Ale House Amesbury, MA. Pitch black liquid with a thin mocha head. Aroma is weak coffee grounds, light roast, maybe ash.
Yes, ash in the finish with the aforementioned, weak roast, weak coffee. Body is thin even for a porter. A step in the right digestion as this is the first beer I have had from this brewer that was actually drinkable. Maybe there is some hope.

Pours opaque black into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Chocolate and espresso aromas. Soft with charred chocolate upfront turning dry in the lasting espresso finish.
