Growler share with Henry.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that held and fell off at a decent pace. Sly messy lace.
The aroma had some sweet and roasty nuts up front with a nice smooth caramel/toffee maltiness rolling in and then through some nice earthy hops.
The flavor held the balance of sweet to roasty and bringing in some toast, damp wood and a light butterscotch to blend with the prior noted aromas. Sly aftertaste of the malts. Quick malty finish.
The palate was about medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Fairly smooth to the touch along my tongue.
Overall, pretty nice English styled brown ale that I could come back to.

Keg pour at 7th Settlement. Appearance is dark brown (like cola), tiny ring of off-white head, negligible lacing. Aroma is bready malt, with caramel and light chocolate. Taste is nice dark roasted malt with caramel (almost like a Scotch Ale) and chocolate. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, silky texture and average carbonation with roasty and bitter finish. Overall, this is quite good.

Draft sample at the source. Thin, white, creamy head on a dark brown color, nearly opaque. Nice presentation. Malty aroma, with faint earthy malt.
A nice light, malt flavor up front. Mouthfeel has a slight earthy/ lingering nutty flavor. Weak hop presence quickly blends into the back. Finish has a low hop balance as it warms, with good amounts of nuttiness. Pretty much exactly as it should be.

Sample from the Granite State Brewers Festival 7/25/15 Rich caramel and chocolate notes with hints of toffee earth and a light pitted fruitiness. Nice brown ale.
