Dark ruby color with a tiny ring of head. Aroma is spruce, pine needles, parsley and lavender. Holy hell, it tastes just like it smells. The finish has a lingering spruce and herbal kick. THIS should be named Prescription Gruit! damn fine traditional ale, but be prepared for the herbs. Honestly, I really kind of like it.

On tap. Pours with a deep, cola hued body with a medium sized tan/off-white head that fades. Aromas are nutty, caramel, brown sugar, cola, sarsaparilla, walnut, light clove, medium spicy. Flavors are malty, honey, brown sugar, nutty, cola, chamomile tea and slightly floral. Low bitterness, a bit herbal with a malty balance. Dry finish with a touch of tannin left on the tongue. Medium to slightly fuller bodied, medium-low carbonation. Very slightly warming, but otherwise the alcohol is quite well hidden.
