From the bomber, it pours very dark and leaves the same color body. A one inch white foamy head appears and slowly dies to a half centimeter bubbly head. Foamy spotty lacing graces the pint glass. The smell has a roasty coffee up front with some light malt in the background. The taste is a great combination between the coffee and the chocolate with a lingering roastiness to both. The palate is about a medium touching closer to the watery side, still acceptable and I like it because it makes it highly drinkable. Overall, an impressive beer from Rising Tide that I would be happy to come back to.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Sickly tan head recedes to mottle surface. Dark chocolate and espresso aromas. Thin with roasted nuts and bready caramel upfront turning to mocha in the dry, medium length finish.

22 oz. bottle from the Bier Cellar, Portland, ME for $6.99. English pint. Nice eye appeal for a porter. Nice ring of white head that clings to the glass on the way down. Great aroma of coffee and roasted malt on the nose. Flavor is organic coffee, roasted and chocolate malt. Roast and coffee linger just a bit. Body is medium with texture is oily and slick. Not the best coffee porter I’ve had but decent.
