Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a deep golden brown colored body and had a small creamy head that dissipated within a minute. In the beginning, the lacing perfectly surrounded the entire glass as the beer went down (very impressive). As the beer warmed and more sips were taken, the lacing eventually separated and spread to a spider web around the glass. The carbonation was very subdued in the appearance. It left no rings.
The smell had some malts, piney hops come out only as the beer warms and even that’s a super big grasp
The taste was sweet yet subdued bitter through the previously mentioned flavors adding a bit of floral undertones.
On the palate, it sat about a medium (could be closer to heavy?), not as sessionable as one might think, no aftertaste, sticky finish, light carbonation felt on the tongue.
Overall, this is a very good pale ale and am glad I tried it. This beer is worth the price one pays. I would get this beer again in a heartbeat.

Bottle shared at the cabin, NH. Pours clear, ruby-gold with a fine, white foam head. A lot of sugary berries in the nose, with a good bit of juicy pine and overripe orange. Medium to big sweet flavor with ripe and faintly tangy citrus, lightly toasted malts, a bit of caramel, more piney bitterness. Medium in body with fine to average carbonation. Sticky finish both sweet and resinous, with further juicy pine, strawberry, ripe citrus. I didn’t even know they had native barley or hops in ME, so given that it’s decent stuff. To be honest, I wouldn’t call this an APA (or an IPA) as much as I would a light barley wine.

Side by side by side comparison. All 22 oz. bottles. Maine has an identical appearance as the Massachusetts, color and carbonation levels with retention being much better than the other two. The nose has a much higher level of caramel malt. The malt is balanced with a much more Earthy hop. More wood Earthy rather than pine. Mildly bitter in the finish. Mouthfeel is also on the dry side. I prefer this over the MA and VT versions.
