Tap at John Goffe’s Bedford. Solid dark brown with a minimal head. Earthy caramel and light chocolate on the nose. Flavor follows with some roast and hints of dark pitted fruits. Decent porter.

No nose. Large spotty spiderweb lacing. Color deep amber not quite brown. Taste has nuttiness roasted malt with a hop backbone. Medium mouthfeel, some what medium body low carbonation. Noticeable dry finish. Well put together.

Smokehouse Porter. Pours mahogany-tinged black into a Sam glass. Mocha pancake batter head with medium retention recedes leaving spotted sheets. Dark caramel, toasted pumpernickel and roasted Brazil nuts. Thin upfront with caramel and toast turning spritzy in the middle with a lasting roasted nut finish. Could use a little more smoke and body.
