Perfectly clear deep pink and barely ruby coloured body with hints of both violet and indigo with a super small, definitely pink coloured head that shows barely a sliver that fades to nothing a few seconds later. Aroma of bright, tart floral notes with some hibiscus, some chamomile and a deep grassy and bitter note soon afterwards perhaps from the yeast or cedar/dry notes with a light sweetness and a sweetness that shows up towards the end, but is really drowned out by the floral and pungent notes in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Pungent bitterness and punch that shows a good deal of grain and floral notes with the grass and dryness as well, but the slightly tart hibiscus flowers do come through strongly at the end. Aftertaste is deep and relatively pungent with a bitterness and strong deep floral note that has a little bit of hibiscus to it, but more of a chamomile and tea bite that has some bitterness and pungency instead of just tart elements. Overall, an interesting and surprising beer all the way around with some tart flavours, a lot of floral and dry notes, but als o some sweet, complex and bitterness that seems to work out reasonably well as the intended name - a hibiscus saison. Nice to sample and worth trying to find if you typically like hibiscus sours, as this adds some complexity to that note making it way more dry throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Selma (The Forum), San Antonio, Texas on 14-October-2019 for US$1,99 sampled in my house here in Washington on 06-August-2020.

At the source: pours a pinkish orange with a white head. Aroma is light flowers and yeast. Taste is a light saison with some floral hints. Nothing too crazy.
