Dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have sweet perfumed malts. Extreme zoethout. Weird tongue numbing evaporation feel.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma, sweet-ish hints of liquorice, a fruity touch of cherry. Taste is dark malty, interrupted by very sweet clouds of liquorice and dry, papery woody notes; unbalanced, inharmonious, overflavoured.

0.33 l bottle from ’Hopfenrausch’ (thanks Mareike!), best before November 2016. Slight gusher! Clear, dark reddish brown with a massive, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and moderately spicy aroma of dark chocolate, licorice root and red fruits. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty and slightly spicy taste of dark chocolate, licorice root, red fruits and hints of caramel, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, quite spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite tasty, way better than expected to be honest.

Festival der Bierkulturen 2016, Köln. Smooth malty beginning. Easy to drink but still deep. A great and not too sweet herbal combination of chocolaty stout with herbal liquorice. Fascinating aromatic, long chocolate-herbal aftertaste with a nice and smooth moderate sweetness.
