Bottle at L42, care of Colin. It pours murky dark brown with a gigantic beige head. The aroma is toasty brown bread, earth, wood, leather, cocoa and dried fruits (including date). The taste is dry, harsh bitterness, wood, date, plum, dried fruits, roasted malt, cocoa and some alcohol. Medium body and overly high carbonation. Better than the white IPA, but still fairly basic.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Colin. Lightly hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Smooth and semi dry palate, modest carbonation. Mellow malts, modest creamy sweetness. Very mild contrasting roast. A little floral bitterness. Light and smooth pine. Smooth dry finish leaves a trace of bitterness. Wishy washy but okay.
