Tap at Mad for Beer in Rome-Italy. Amber dark cloudy pour, tick and irregular off-white foam. Nose: grainy and soapy, neutral yeast prominent. Mouth: easy, it feels like a milled malts infusion. Just solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Café, Halifax. Golden with a thin head. Has a few hops, with some creamy malty flavours evident. There’s a few malts in its nose too.

Bottle from Old Shambles Tavern in York. Appearance - deep amber with a small but attractive lacy head. Nose - lemon syrup thing. Taste - orange peel. Toffee follows it in. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - I’d expect a California Common to be a little fresher than this. It’s drinkable but I wouldn’t go a second.
