Champion is our nod to a classic Brown Ale from the North East. Brewed with a blend of Vienna malt, a blend of crystal and dark malts, and just a touch of smoked malt, this brown ale is as complex as it is easy-drinking.

Can from Against The Grain. Dark brown body with no head or lacing. Lively carbonation. Aroma of treacle and toffee. Flavour of rust and earthy malt. Thin to medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is just ok and not as nice as I had hoped.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown with orange chinks. Beige, foamy head. Nose - brown bread, cocoa, chocolate cereal and toffee. Taste - toffee, chocolate and brown bread, almost Jamaica cake. Palate - medium bodied, lightly creamy middle but mainly roasty through the finish. Overall - lovely stuff! Proper near!
