Crowler from Blaine, thanks dude!
Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a semi-clear orange/amber color with no head. Alcohol strings of lace appear ever so slightly but fade in time.
The aroma leads with a blend of some molasses, brown sugar, grassy hops and then some toffee to caramel malts. Closer to the end of it a slight earthy to bubble gum sort of quality comes out.
The flavor leans into the sweetness of the prior mentioned aromas to bleed on into the aftertaste and roll right on into the finish.
On the palate, a medium bodied barleywine persists upon a fair carbonation and leading on into an acceptable ABV level. Good smoothness along my tongue.
Overall, really good barleywine that I would have again. Big Slide looks like they’re on my radar now.

A reddish copper barleywine with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet cloying caramel malt with loads of butterscotch candy, unpleasant and sickly sweet. In mouth, sickly sweet butterscotch malt with light treacle, light hops, alcohol warmth, dark fruits, molasses, a bit too much.
