We wondered what would happen if we put more sticky rye in a mash than we thought reasonable. This beer was the result. Born under a bad sign, our rye stout is rich and smooth, tasting of coffee, cocoa, molasses and smoke with a slightly off-dry finish.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, deep brown head. Minimal lacing. Scents include chocolate, coffee, smoke and molasses. First swig was creamy. nice and burnt with flavours of smoke, light chocolate and coffee. Finish is burnt as hell its a lightly sweet finish.

A deep brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma sweet chocolate malt with light coffee notes, light butterscotch, mocha, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with light coffee grind, nutty notes, pleasant. On tap at Wellington Gastropub.
