Don’t let this beer’s inky black appearance fool you. Our Blackberry Oatmeal Cream Stout boasts extreme drinkability. At just 5.9% ABV, it’s increadibly creamy and full-bodied, with just a hint of berry on the finish contributed by the blackberry purée added.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sly stringy lace slides into the beer.
The aroma had some roast up front and then dried cocoa bean. Berries come in slightly. Then some vanilla, and a slight mineral qualities.
The flavor leans to a blended sweetness of the cocoa and berries. Roast seems to sit back a bit more. Sweet oatiness. Sly wet cocoa aftertaste. Wet sweet oats and berries finish.
On the palate, this one sat between a light and medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Enough roastiness grips my tongue appropriately.
Overall, not bad oatmeal stout. Oatmeal seems to hit a bit more than expected and lends a hand to the sweet side a bit more than expected. Still, mostly good.

A dark brown stout with a thin lacing brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate with coffee grind, light berries, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a nice bitter fruity chocolate malt with light black berry notes, light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light coffee grind, nice. On tap at North Country Brewfest 2016.
