Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Dusty and tart aroma with fruit. Sour and plum/apricot/pluot flavor with light sweetness. Medium bodied. Sourness and light acetic notes linger with plum/apricot/pluot.

Dark burnt orange. Hazy. Nose is light with hints of peach skin and lemonade. The taste is very distinctive. I’ve never had pluot before. The base beer again is crazy sour. So intense and just Murder on my enamel and peace of mind. Juicy honey and lime finish

Bottle - Apricot and stone fruits with some tart funk and citrus. Hazy yellow with a decent white head. Tart apricot, funky citrus notes and some barrel. Complex and not so tart that is gets lost. Very nice.

Sample at Kurtkeller 014: Almanac-tastic 01 on 06/27/2014. Cloudy golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, oak and yeast. Medium-bodied with flavors of tart apricot, vinous oak and yeast. The finish is moderately sour with a lingering apricot aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Pours a pale yellow gold color. Fairly hazy liquid. Medium-sized white head. Fades fairly quickly, leaving few bubbles behind. The aroma is big on pluots, berries and wine. There’s some oak character, but the fruity sourness is in charge. Some lemon peel. The blend of pluot, wine barrel and sourness turned out nicely. There’s some cheesy funk, maybe a little diacetyl. The flavor is tart. Tart berries, fairly juicy pluots, tart vinous note. More oak flavor, drying and a bit tannic. Some malt flavor, which is a touch odd. The cheesy funk comes out more in the finish and seems pretty buttery to me. Whatever the flavor is, I’m not a fan, and in varying degrees, it seems to pop up in most of Almanac’s sours. It gives the beer a messy feeling - whether it could clean up with time, I really don’t know. A little more body to the beer than expected. Still pretty light but there’s some lingering malt sugar in there. Pretty good sour. In the upper half of Almanac’s work in my opinion but not at the top of the list.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours hazy golden with a rather small frothy white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and fruity with crackers, dried apricots, lemon juice, grape juice, hay, lemon zest, unripe plums, star fruit, unflavored yoghurt and hints of frozen strawberries. Taste is sour and fruity with crackers, hay, apricots, lemon juice, strawberry yoghurt, heavy yellow plums, yuzu juice dry soil, dusty cereal and hints of sour milk, barnyard and leather. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, mouth-puckering and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour and fruity with apricots, peaches, plums, hay, dry soil, lemon juice, strawberry yoghurt and hints of sour milk. Balanced and refreshing...

On tap at Uber Tavern, pours a cloudy dull golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out pitted fruits, brett, oak and some tartness. Flavour brings out tart fruits, zesty fruits, oak barrels and brett. Very tart, fairly funky, and zesty. Good stuff, but nothing special.

Poured from a 375mL bottle. Aroma is dominated by fruit with a really nice pluots character. Slight sulfur mustiness with light acidity. Medium light pale malt character. Pours a hazy, pale gold with a moderately thick white head with decent retention. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor starts with some sweetness and light acidity that gets stronger mid palate. Medium light pale malt character with fairly strong pluot fruit character. Pluots are a light variety and have more apricot character than plum. Light oak and tannins. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall a super enjoyable sour fruit beer, but the acidity lacks a bit complexity and funk. Nice light malt character still present and adding some body. Probably my favorite Almanac beer to date.
